It is alive, it is set into the surface of BrimStar, and it is fed. It was introduced as somewhere to take the scrap of space freighters, and Stargazer’s briefing puts the count at ten freighters consumed. MonStar was building power with it and the show never explains the plan in detail, which is a recurring habit of this series rather than a gap in the record. The Steel twins end it by placing explosive charges on its surface. Worth filing carefully: it is neither a ship nor a creature that moves, so it belongs to Brim*Star’s geography and not to the vehicles.
