Sergeant Will Hart is the strongman of the SilverHawks, and he is the harder of the two twins to write about, because almost everything true of him is also true of his sister.

The other half

The metallization went wrong for both Hart twins and for nobody else on the team, so both of them run on a stainless steel heart, and the procedure sharpened a psychic bond they already had. The series returns to that over and over, and writes it almost entirely from Steelheart’s side. She gets the arc; he gets the consequences of it.

There is a version of this character that would have been a problem. The strongman on a 1986 team is usually the one the writers stop thinking about after the second episode. Steelwill avoids that, but he avoids it by being welded to somebody more interesting, and a run of sixty-five episodes never quite gets round to asking what he wants.

Stronghold

Stronghold is his weapon bird. Where Tally-Hawk scouts and Rayzor cuts, Stronghold is the one you send at something that has to be held.

The figures

Super7 gave him a straight ULTIMATES! release in Wave 2 and a VAC Metal toy-version in Wave 6, which puts him one release behind his sister across the line. Kenner had done the same thing in 1987: the twins shipped as separate figures, which the show never once did to them.

Browse them on the Super7 catalogue, or the vintage line on the Kenner page.
